Born in East Africa, to parents of both Russian and Welsh descent, Boris worked on his own as a sculptor and painter after an art training in South Africa. For a while he taught art at a Waldorf school before joining a Camphill community, living and working alongside children and adults with learning disabilities. At present Boris lives on the Isle of Wight where he helps manage a small guest house (Seahorses) with his wife, Brenda, whilst running an art-studio which is also open to local use. There are many influences in his paintings which include such diverse sources such as the cave paintings, Russian icons and Celtic manuscripts. More modern influences include Paul Klee, Mark Rothko and the colour theories of Goethe and Rudolf Steiner.
